Choo Choo…Chugga Chugga
Bees
So, I’ve been absent.
I’m sorry.
We have been SUPER busy.
Plus I’m starting to hate this wordpress thing. It’s frustrating me and I maybe should have never switched. Oh well, I’ll figure all that out later.’
For now, here’s some music and some pictures of the happs in our life recently!

Perfect Pumpkin Yuck
I never carved pumpkins growing up (thanks a lot, Mom & Dad). My husband introduced me to the wonderful art of pumpkin carving the year that we were married.
Oh. My. Goodness.
I have been in love with pumpkins ever since then. And we have probably spent hundreds of dollars on pumpkins. (And we’ve only been married three years!)
So, Jorden & I (Daddy had to work) made our trip to the pumpkin patch last weekend to get a few pumpkins to start the season off. We got three large ones and three little bitty ones that Jorden felt he absolutely HAD to have. (I think it was just because they were small enough for him to carry!)
Tonight was our pumpkin carving evening. I covered the table with a nice clean newspaper. (My idea-this way it will be easy to clean up.)
Joey & I were carving our pumpkins & Jorden was playing in the yuck.
Until he got bored.
Then he was throwing the yuck. At Daddy.
Daddy was not happy.
And Momma was mature and responsible. Until I heard the ssshhhlepp. Then I lost it.
(If you’ve never been involved in a pumpkin yuck fight, ’ssshhhlepp’ is the sound that pumpkin yuck makes when it smacks someone on the side of the head.)
That head would be Daddy’s.
Jorden had stopped throwing and was laughing. Loudly & continuously.
I was watching, waiting to see what would happen next. Joey had a handful of pumpkin yuck and I could already see the gears turning.
Ssshhhelpp!!
Onto my baby’s forehead. Jorden looked stunned. For about 1/10 of a second.
Ssshhhelpp!!
Back onto Daddy’s cheek. This went on until we were out of pumpkin yuck.
This clip is only the very beginning of what ensued!
Our dining room was a mess. The blinds were covered with pumpkin yuck, the chairs were covered with pumpkin yuck, the carpet was covered with pumpkin yuck, the table was covered with pumpkin yuck, the sliding glass door was covered with pumpkin yuck, the family was covered with pumpkin yuck. (So much for the whole newspaper thing!) Watching my guys so completely happy was worth the 30 minutes and roll of paper towels it took us to clean up.
In that moment, I realized that my life is perfect. Yes, we have our share of challenges but, more importantly, we have each other. I wake up to the two loves of my life every morning and I go to bed to them each night. My life might be chaotic but it’s my own version of perfection.
And, just in case you didn’t know, fighting with pumpkin yuck is exhausting!

Mommy Training
For the duration of this post, I’ll be using substitution words. Use your good sense to figure them out.
So we’ve been potty training for a few months now. Jorden has been doing GREAT with Number 1. (Insert good sense now.) He did NOT want to go Number 2 on the potty.
I’m still trying to figure that one out. Who would want Number 2 stuck to their rear? Crazy kids.
About a month ago Jorden calmly stopped what he was doing and said “Poop, Mommy.” And starts yanking on his pull up. So, off to the potty we go.
I read somewhere that in the early stages of training, you should dump the Number 2 from the pull up into the potty. So, inside out goes the pull up and into the potty.
This thrilled the toddler. “I sit, Mommy! Make poop!” And he did. For about 3-4 weeks there were no accidents.
Until we went to the Mini Mart at the NEX one night. Joey was off helping a friend fix a van so we went shopping. (Of course!) We were on our way to the check out when I realized I forgot to get snacks and headed back over to the cookie aisle. (What’s wrong with Americans? We have whole aisles for cookies!?)
“Poop Mommy!”
“Ok baby, let’s pay and then we’ll go to the potty.”
I figured he would be able to hold it for 1 minute. I figured wrong. I smelled it before he announced it.
“Poop, Mommy! GO GO GO! Poop!”
There was no hiding the awful smell was coming from us. People all around could smell it and, thanks to my Jorden, knew it was us.
So, I learned my lesson. No “holding it” for baby.
Potty training sure is educational…for both of us!

Break Glass In Case of Emergency
Last night, Jorden “cooked” dinner.
Dinosaur & Blocks Pasta to be exact.
Luckily, Momma had a back up.
You know. Just in case the dinosaurs were over-cooked or the blocks were too crunchy.
That’s my beautiful new Pampered Chef bowl that was my hostess gift since someone who attended my party booked their own show. (Thanks Cris!)
I LOVE that bowl. I think it makes my food look better.
What do you think??

Weekend Update
So, my three day weekend was uneventful but fun.
Friday was busy busy busy! So much for not “working”. I woke up early so that Jorden & I could drive over to Kbay to deliver all of the Pampered Chef goods and visit. It made me sad! I miss it so much there!
After that we had to make it back to our side of the Island in time to stop by the Cafe before Jorden’s appointment. We brought muffins for the Pediatric Staff to say thanks, they’ve been so helpful making our appointments and getting us in! Jorden is always Mr. Popular with adults anywhere (he’s a ham!), so the muffins put us over the top a little bit. He was eating up all the attention from the ladies!
So, after screaming through x-rays and wiggling and fighting it (Now we need to take that guy muffins!)….the doctor said his finger is still broken. We have to keep buddy taping it for another 3 weeks! SHEESH!
Daddy had to go back to work so Momma & Baby decided to go…Shopping! (Where else?!)
Old Navy was (is?) having a sale so we got some new stuff and, then headed to the pet store.
Piggy needs a new cage.
Piggy does NOT need a cage that costs $150.
We left with nothing!
Saturday was off to the Thrift Stores! One of our friends volunteers at the Pearl Harbor one so he wanted us to stop by and see him and maybe pick up some outdoor toys for Jorden. (They’re just gonna get broken anyways!)
Guess what they had – the $150 Piggy cage. For $3! DEAL OF THE YEAR! Can you tell I am super excited about this?
Piggy is much happier in his nice new cage and Momma is happy because he can’t kick his bedding out of this one.
Ok, time to wrap this up. If anyone is still listening reading.
Last night was Fight Night. Kimbo Slice is the only person I care to watch and he lost.
Today was spring cleaning day. (In October?)
Whatever. The point is that we cleaned. The kitchen, the bathrooms, the patio, the cars, the bedrooms. EVERYTHING.
Man, I’m pooped. Speaking of which…Jorden has been pooping in the toilet for 4 days now. He says “Poop Mommy, POOP!” And runs to the bathroom door. How exciting! Granny is hoping he’ll be all trained by the time she comes to visit in December.
I’m aiming (haha, pun intended!) for his birthday! Wish us luck!
Now that we got to the bottom (pun intended again, haha!) of the weekend, I’m off to make Sunday dinner! Hope everyone’s weekend was as good as ours!
